Preliminary: Effects Practice

For this first video, I wanted to practice the "clone effect" where we have multiple versions of the same subject in the frame simultaneously, as I knew it would come up in my music video. For this second video, I got a little more ambitious and tried a "super speed" effect, where one subject in the frame would be moving in super speed, while the scene around them would shift and slow down. I tried using rotoscoping tools, however my skills were less than subpar, so I knew I would need to work on those before the final video shoot. I was also told it also wasnt clear enough exactly what was happening to the scene surrounding it, and just a color shift wasnt indicative enough, so I kept those in mind for the next time.

Preliminary: Risk Analysis

Since the plan was to visit a park, there were many risks I had to take into account when considering the shoot. Health Hazards: I had to ensure none of my actors had allergies to the plants at the park, and plan to carry proper first aid equipment in case of emergency Tripping Hazards: Places with rocks, trees, branches were dangerous to perform in, so I knew I would have to be careful when shooting in locations with foliage on the ground Animals: Since we were so close to the mountains and there were dense forests around, there could be the possibility of wild animals or bugs coming, so I had to ensure we were filming in safe areas

Preliminary: Camera Practice

In this, I was tasked with using 4 different camera transitions

Research: Music Video Inspiration

There were a few music videos I've seen that I enjoyed watching, which I wanted to take inspiration from. 1. "Edamame" - bbno$ (Warning: Explicit) Directed by "Reggie." https://youtu.be/K6BRna4_bmg?si=OBeHEya6oQ6wjC_H                    - Creative mise en scene                    - Exaggerated acting                    - Energetic camera 3. "Sun In My Eyes" - Nix Northwest (Warning: Explicit) Directed by Nix Northwest and Asher Kos...

Preliminary: Location Scouting (OLD)

Image
In terms of locations for my music video, I knew I could film half of it at my school, but for the other half I needed to find a park that would properly capture the theme of innocence and bliss, so I went around my city looking at parks that had: Flowers Tall trees Clear(er) skies I went to 3 parks: 1. Ayub Park (pictures below) I checked Ayub Park first because it was close to my house, and while the scenery was apt, the park was not only busy, which would pose production isssues, it didn't have a very lively "innocent" setting during the daytime. So I decided to check out other places. 2. Central Bee Park (pictures below) This was the second place I looked. One good thing is that it is very modern, and in a much more private area compared to Ayub Park, however the architechture is much too modern for what I envisioned. In terms of the skyline I wasn't really impressed either. Granted, the pictures were taken at night, however in past experiences I've had in the...
