Preliminary: Location Scouting (OLD)
In terms of locations for my music video, I knew I could film half of it at my school, but for the other half I needed to find a park that would properly capture the theme of innocence and bliss, so I went around my city looking at parks that had:
- Flowers
- Tall trees
- Clear(er) skies
I went to 3 parks:
1. Ayub Park (pictures below)
I checked Ayub Park first because it was close to my house, and while the scenery was apt, the park was not only busy, which would pose production isssues, it didn't have a very lively "innocent" setting during the daytime. So I decided to check out other places.
2. Central Bee Park (pictures below)
This was the second place I looked. One good thing is that it is very modern, and in a much more private area compared to Ayub Park, however the architechture is much too modern for what I envisioned. In terms of the skyline I wasn't really impressed either. Granted, the pictures were taken at night, however in past experiences I've had in the park during the daytime, it still wasn't what I was looking for, so I kept it in mind as a backup and moved on.
3. Shakarparian (pictures below)
This was by far the best park of the bunch. While it's a much further distance from the other parks, towards the mountains, it's relatively less busy, skies are more consistently clear and bright, there was a clear view of the city at almost every angle, and there were flowers to use in the mise-en-scene. This is definitely where we're going to be filming the main portion of the music video.
