Music is a form of art, being the expression of a certain feeling by a single person whether personal or through empathy. For an art form already as expressive as it is, what is the point in a "music video". A music video is a combination of 2 different forms of art, being the art of music and the art of cinema. Cinema adds to a piece what the music itself can't.

Artists can use a music video to complete their vision of their art, when a song is released on audio platforms and gains its attention, a music video release can not only attract a new audience, it can bring a new experience for previous fans.

Social media also serves as the main place for marketing, as modern platforms like Tiktok and Instagram allow fans to use the song in their own content, spreading the song indirectly and gaining more notoriety.

All of these factors come together to make the "digipak", which enables artists to share their music and establish a sense of branding for their release.
