Production: Footage Selection Process

After filming, there was a lot of footage I had to look through.

There were a couple main features I looked for when skimming through the footage

  1. Compatibility with the song
  2. How well the performance fits the scene in the music
  3. How well synced the lip syncing is
I didn't really have any chronological pattern to the footage, as I preferred the storytelling of the video to be highlighted in the songs lyrics. So I knew I would be able to mix and match the daytime and nighttime footage within their respective scenes in order to make a more cohesive performance.

Even with my more lax criteria, I realised I still needed more footage to fit in some of the low parts of the song to make it fit more smoothly.
